faith in action:

releasing god's power in your life

Many believers don't know that they have access to an incredible source of strength and transformation right from within. Today, we're diving into the profound truth that faith in God’s Word releases the power within the heart. When we put our faith into action, we can release God's power—which is the Spirit of Christ within. God’s power works amazing changes in our lives!

The Power Within

Believers carry a treasure--the very life or fullness of God. This isn't just a warm, fuzzy statement; it's a powerful reality that can change our circumstances . The apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 4:7 that "we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us."

Using our faith to draw on God's indwelling power in the heart is the key to believers overcoming life's tests and trials. While we may face difficulties, we are able to walk in victory. Why? Because we have access to a divine strength that surpasses our human limitations.

Faith: The Activator

So, how do we tap into this divine power? The answer lies in using our faith in God’s Word to access the power of the Holy Spirit in our hearts—an inward faith draws on God’s grace (power, life, Spirit) within. Romans 1:17 tells us that "the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith." This progression of faith is the key to experiencing God's power in tangible ways.

Faith isn't just a one-time decision; it's a daily choice to believe and act on God's Word. It's about renewing our minds and developing our hearts with God’s Truth, and then speaking that Truth over our circumstances. As we do this consistently, we create an environment where God's power can flow freely in our bodies and to every situation of need in our lives!

The Power of Your Words

One of the primary ways to exercise our faith is through our words. Jesus Himself said in Mark 11:23, "Whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done (Greek-generated), he will have whatever he says."

This isn't about positive thinking or empty declarations. It's about aligning our words with God's Truth and promises. When we face "mountains" of sickness, financial lack or any other challenges, we have the authority to speak God's Word over those situations.

Believers should start their day by declaring, "I am the healed of the Lord. From the top of my head to the bottom of my feet, healing and wholeness are made complete—healing and wholeness is working in me now." This isn't denial of symptoms; it's a bold affirmation of a higher reality— the finished work of Christ.

Persistence in Faith

It's important to understand that faith is often a process. Just as a student can't ace an exam by studying once, we can't expect instant results from sporadic faith declarations. Consistency is key.

When symptoms persist or circumstances seem unchanged, it's so tempting to give up. But, this is precisely when we need to step up our speaking and actions of faith. Keep renewing your mind with the truth of God's Word and speaking your faith. As you do, it creates an atmosphere where doubt and unbelief are pushed out by faith and confident expectation.

The Joy Factor

Here's an interesting thought--joy plays a crucial role in our faith walk. When facing challenges, choose to laugh in the face of adversity. This isn't about being in denial; it's about demonstrating confidence in God's promises. According to Proverbs, “A merry (joyful) heart does good like a medicine”—joy is a powerful weapon!

Reconciliation and Confidence

Another vital aspect of walking in faith is understanding our reconciliation with God. Through Christ, we have been restored to divine favor. This means we can approach God with confidence and not condemnation—assured that we are accepted, forgiven and loved.

Let's talk about condemnation. If our hearts condemn us, or like the Greek says, our hearts give us “a damnatory sentence,” then it creates a barrier to confidently receiving what is rightfully ours in Christ.

How do we get past condemnation? We must renew the mind and develop the heart with what the Word of God says about our righteousness. We are “righteous,”—that’s who we are—so we meditate on who we are in Christ, rather than on past failures or shortcomings.

Practical Steps to Activate Your Faith

1. Fill Up on God's Word and Begin Speaking Your Faith: Make it a priority to saturate your mind with Scripture, and get the Word down into your hearts through meditation (muttering, speaking). Read the Bible every day, listen to Bible-based and Spirit-inspired teachings and then mediate on what you’ve heard.

2. Speak Faith-Filled Words with a Spirit of Faith and Authority: Throughout your day, make bold and confident confessions based on God's Word. Speak to your body, speak to your finances and speak to your circumstances with an attitude of authority in Jesus’ name!

Don't let a day go by without exercising your spiritual authority. Command sickness to leave, declare prosperity over your finances and speak peace into your situations.

3. Embrace Joy: Choose to draw from the joy within and rejoice (Is 1:12), even when you don't feel like it. Joy is a powerful force that can change atmospheres and strengthen your faith.

4. Address Condemnation: If you've made mistakes, go to 1 John 1:9 and receive God's forgiveness and move forward in a bold-confident faith. Don't let past failures hinder your present faith.

5. Take Action: Faith without works is dead. Act on the Word, follow the witness of the Holy Spirit and continually demonstrate your faith throughout the day. This could even mean applying for that job you have in your heart, reaching out to reconcile a relationship, or taking steps towards better health by following natural leadings.

6. Persist: Don't give up when results aren't immediate. Remember, faith is a process and the manifestation does not always come immediately. Faith receives with the hand of faith in the instance, but an active faith keeps believing it already received. A spirit of faith keeps boldly speaking and keeps expecting until the completed result comes to pass!

A Life-Changing Perspective

As we wrap up, consider this powerful truth: You have a testimony to tell and share because you are to be stewards of this inward faith and grace. Your life—filled and fueled with God's Word and the Holy Spirit’s power—produces blessings, breakthroughs and miraculous happenings! Therefore, look for opportunities to encourage others with what God has done for you, and share the life-changing truth of the love of Jesus, God’s Word and God’s power within to the world around you.

Remember, "all things are possible" to those who believe. This isn't just a catchy phrase; it's a life-altering reality when we choose to live with a spirit of faith. Every day presents new opportunities to see God's power manifested in and through our lives and the lives of those around us.

So today, choose to activate your faith! Tap into the incredible power that resides within you—the potential impact is limitless.
